As a demonstration of CCI Utility Services (CCI-US) primary NAICS code 237110 capabilities, identified below is construction project currently in progress at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. The scope of work for this project is consistent with the work description of the primary NAICS code 237110. This contract is also consistent with the contracts CCI-US will actively pursue.
CCI Utility Services, LLC responded to a NAICS 237110 Total Small Business solicitation (solicitation number N40085-16-B-9351) on October 4, 2016. The scope of work involved repairing and modernizing the sanitary sewer system that supports the existing facilities at PNSY. On October 20, 2016 CCI-US received a contract from the US Navy to perform the work.
The contract with the U.S. Navy involves rehabilitating much of the sanitary sewer system at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (Kittery, Maine) using Cured-in-Place Pipe Lining (CIPPL) technology. CIPPL technology is a low impact, trenchless solution to renewing aging sewer systems without the need to excavate. In CIPPL sewer rehabilitation a resin-saturated felt tube is inverted into a damaged pipe, usually from the upstream access point (manhole or excavation). The liner is then inflated using water or air pressure. Once the liner is in place, UV light is used to cure the resin and form a tight-fitting, joint-less, and corrosion-resistant replacement pipe. Service laterals are restored internally with robotically controlled cutting devices. Little to no digging is involved in this trenchless process, making for a cost-effective and far less disruptive method than traditional “dig and replace” pipe repair methods.
Scope of work involves the following:
- Inspecting (CCTV) and cleaning (line jetting) of 3,898 linear feet of pipe ranging in 4 to 21 inches in diameter;
- Installation of 4,659 linear feet of CIPPL pipe ranging between 8 to 18 inches in diameter; and
- The replacement of 142 linear feet of asbestos containing piping material with standard SDR 35 pipe.
The overall project is 15% complete, with CCI-US having completed 835 linear feet of the CCTV/Jetting (inspecting and cleaning) and having installed 1,876 linear feet of CIPPL pipe. The project is anticipated to be complete well before the contract completion date of June 30th, 2017.
